Aglaonema 'Crete' aka 'Siam Aurora' aka 'Jungle Red' is a cultivar of Aglaonema commutatum Schott, commonly called 'Philippine evergreen'. It iss an evergreen perennial that generally resembles dieffenbachia (dumb cane) in appearance. Aglaonema 'Crete' has vibrant green elliptical foliage, with pink-red margins and pink petioles.
Genus name comes form the Greek words aglaos meaning bright or clear and nema meaning a thread in reference to the stamens.
