Anthurium crystallinum 'Crystal Hope' is a cultivar ofAnthurium crystallinum Linden & André. It was patented by Claude Hope (hence the name), patent no. USPP9078P . It is characterized by its outwardly facing leaves which show the full leaf blade, relatively small leaves, iridescent leaf venation which contrasts with dark green leaf blades, leaf petioles, which do not stretch under low light conditions, and by its very infrequent flowering.
The genus name Anthurium is derived form Greek ánthos "flower" + ourá "tail" + New Latin -ium -ium . A very; literal translation of this would be 'flowering tail'.
