Broad, weighty velvet leaves define Anthurium 'King of Spades', with a deep sinus, dense texture, and restrained silver venation that becomes clearer as the plant matures. It stays more compact than many oversized velvet hybrids, yet the foliage still develops a heavy, grounded look that suits shelves, cabinets, or a single-pot display.
Bright indirect light, stable warmth between 18–26°C, and humidity in the higher range help it hold shape and colour. Let the upper few centimetres of the mix dry slightly before watering again, and keep the substrate coarse and airy so roots are never trapped in wet compost. Given a low stake or simple pole, mature plants often produce larger, flatter leaves. Higher humidity also improves the finish of new growth well.
