Anthurium moodeanum Croat is a very rarely encountered in collections aroid of unknown origin. Described by Croat in 2010, it is most likely a terrestrial Anthurium with erect petioles and pendent leaf blades which can grow to very large sizes. The emergent leaves of this gorgeous plant have stunning, deep-chocolate colouration.
The genus name Anthurium is derived form Greek ánthos "flower" + ourá "tail" + New Latin -ium -ium . A very; literal translation of this would be 'flowering tail'.
