Pokon Expanded Clay Balls (LECA) – Drainage, moisture control & semi-hydro support
Pokon Expanded Clay Balls (LECA) are lightweight, porous clay granules for drainage layers, semi-hydroponic growing and decorative top dressings. They absorb water between the balls and release it slowly, helping roots stay hydrated without sitting in soggy soil.
Why use Pokon Expanded Clay Balls
- Better drainage in pots and planters: keeps excess water away from the root ball and reduces root-rot risk.
- Moisture buffer: stores water between the clay balls and releases it gradually, evening out short dry periods.
- Clean, inert medium: suitable for hydro and semi-hydro setups where soil would be messy or unstable.
- Flexible volumes: available in 5 L, 10 L, 20 L and 40 L bags for everything from small houseplants to large containers.
Where Pokon LECA fits into your plant care
Use these clay balls when you want extra control over water and roots: as a drainage layer in decorative covers, as a semi-hydro medium for houseplants or as a top layer that slows evaporation and tidies the soil surface.
For a detailed look at non-organic substrates and how to transition plants into them, see our semi-hydro substrate guide and the repotting guide.
