Alocasia baginda 'Dragon scale'

A very popular Alocasia with stunninng and showy foliage, Alocasia baginda 'Dragon scale' is a cultivar of Alocasia baginda Kurniawan & P.C.Boyce, which is native to Borneo.

It is a tuberous, herbaceous plant with dark matte green leaves, with contrasting pale grey bullate portions of the blade. Heart to arrowhead-shaped, very stiffly thickly coriaceous and almost completely peltate, each held singly atop long and sturdy succulent stems.

Genus name comes from the Greek words a meaning without and Colocasia the name of a closely allied genus, from which it was separated.
