Alocasia 'Serendipity' is a cultivar of a most likely a chimeric variegant of an Alocasiafrom a A. macrorrhizos group. Its coloration is similar to that of the Alocasia plumbea 'Nigra'. It has uniquely textured leaves and a rich dark color, also on stems. A tuberous, herbaceous plant.
Genus name comes from the Greek words a meaning without and Colocasia the name of a closely allied genus, from which it was separated.
