Very dramatic, ruffled, deeply lobed and undulated Anthurium ivanportillae Croat sp. nov. ined. Found in Ecuador, its petioles are terete, obtusely and bluntly sulcate adaxially. Leaf blades sub coriaceous, moderately bicolorous, dark green and semi-glossy above.

The genus name Anthurium is derived form Greek ánthos "flower" + ourá "tail" + New Latin -ium -ium . A very  literal translation of this would be 'flowering tail'.
