This wonderful hybrid, Anthurium 'King of Spades' is also called Anthurium 'HU' for Haji Ulih (Haji means a Muslim who has fulfilled the 5th pillar of Islam, going to Mecca, Ulih being his first name), who created it. Stunning cordate, very full velvety leaf blades are adorned with delicate, but very high contrasting venation.
The genus name Anthurium is derived form Greek ánthos "flower" + ourá "tail" + New Latin -ium -ium . A very literal translation of this would be 'flowering tail'.
