Anthurium lapoanum Croat sp. nov. ined. -is a very showy terrestial species. Petioles medium green, weakly glossy, sharply flattened adaxially; blades subcoriaceous, bullate, dark green and weakly glossy above, paler and matte below; midrib weakly raised and slightly paler in deep valley above, bluntly acute and concolorous below; primary lateral veins deeply sunken and concolorous above, acute and slightly darker below; tertiary veins conspicuously sunken above, conspicuously raised below .
The genus name Anthurium is derived from Greek ánthos "flower" + ourá "tail" + New Latin -ium -ium . A very literal translation of this would be 'flowering tail'.
