Epipremnum pinnatum

One of the most wide-spread aroids, both in the wild, as well as in hortuculture worldwide, Epipremnum pinnatum Engl. is a root climber which can grow up to 15m.  Foliage leaves often clustered distally; petiole dark green, canaliculate, smooth; petiolar sheath extending to halfway along apical pulvinus, disintegrating into netted fibers. Leaf blade ovate to oblong-elliptic, submembranous, base slightly cordate, regularly pinnatifid to pinnatisect, apex acuminate; pinnae paler abaxially, adaxially dark green, with tiny perforations along and adjacent to midrib, pinnae each with 1 primary lateral vein and several parallel interprimary veins, higher order venation reticulate, midrib prominently raised abaxially, impressed adaxially.

The genus name Epipremnum is derived from the Greek terms 'epi' (upon) and 'premna' (tree stump), a reference to the epiphytic growth habit of plants from this genus.
