Microsorum thailandicum

Microsorum thailandicum Boonkerd & Noot is an epiphytic fern with stunning, iridescent foliage. Fronds are  leathery, strap like, upper surface iridescent metallic blue in color. Under surface dull bluish green. Sporangia borne on the under surface, on the upper 1/4 - 1/3 of the frond (towards the tip).

The genus "Microsorum" is derived from the Greek word for small ("mikros") and the spore-containing structure known as sorus.  It refers to the small sori of Microsorum punctatum which is the type species of this genus.
