Monstera sp. Peru, also known as Monstera karstenianum in horticulture (neither of the above names is official or accepted) is supposedly a small-growing Monstera plant. It is a hemi-epiphyte. Leaves are ovate and asymmetrical, very conspicuously bullate, glabrous and shiny.
The genus name Monstera ( modern Latin), comes perhaps form Latin monstrum ‘monster’ (because of the unusual appearance of the leaves in some species). (uncertain)
