Phyllotaenium lindenii André has beautiful dark green, ornamental foliage with highly contrasting white veins and prominent lobes. It is a terrestial herb with stem more or less globose and fully subterrenean. Petiole is flattened above, green with purple stripes, sparsely covered with a tangled, reddish-brown scruffy indument. Leaf lamina are saggitate, not peltate, the veins are variegated, cream to pale green above.
This plant has been initially classified as a Phyllotaenium, then as a Caladium, then as a Xanthosoma, to finally being classified back as a Phyllotaenium.
