A very rarely offered for sale, shingling aroid, Scindapsus pictus 'Snake's scale' is an evergreen herb with shingling leaves when juvenile. Leaf blades are dark green and sub-velvety, marked with lime green splodges of colour and a bright margin.
Genus name form scientific Latin Scindapsus, form ancient Greek σκινδαψός, name of a plant resembling ivy.
