Xanthosoma dealbatum

Rarely offered for sale, Xanthosoma dealbatum Grayum from Costa Rica is a tuberous geophyte which grows in moist areas on low elevations of tropical forests. It has beautiful, sub-velvet deep green foliage and grows to very large sizes.


The name is derived from the Greek words ξανθός (xanthos), meaning "yellow", and σῶμα (soma), meaning "body". It refers to the stigma or yellow inner tissues.
