Alocasia zebrina is recognised by green arrow-shaped leaves on distinctive zebra-striped petioles. Dark banding over lighter green stems creates vertical contrast as the petioles rise from the pot. The smooth green blades stay simple, leaving the striped stems as the strongest feature below the foliage. As the plant matures, longer petioles make the stem pattern a larger part of the overall display. Use a chunky, open mix and water less during slower growth. Keep the leaves beyond pets that bite or graze houseplants.
