Rhipsalis teres f. heteroclada houseplant
  • Rhipsalis teres f. heteroclada (Britton & Rose) Barthlott & N.P.Taylor is a form of Rhipsalis heteroclada Britton & Rose. It grows very slender stems. When cultivated under bright conditions, it stands tall and branches out, while a more abundant growth makes it as flexible as spaghetti. Every 10 cm or so, it clusters a spiral of branches, forming a graceful cascade of stems. While the stems appear green, they take on a purplish hue in strong light. Delicate white flowers precede the emergence of white fruits.

Genus name comes form New Latin, form Greek rhip-, rhips wickerwork + Latin -alis -al, referring to the plants' morphology.
