Tillandsia

Tillandsia, commonly known as air plants, are epiphytic bromeliads native to Central and South America. They absorb moisture and nutrients via specialized leaf scales (trichomes), not roots, and grow attached to bark, rock, or wood. These plants require bright indirect light, good air circulation, and regular soaking or rinsing to stay hydrated. Contrary to popular belief, they do not purify air or survive on humidity alone. Their unique form and soil-free growth make them ideal for terrariums, wall holders, or hanging displays in modern indoor spaces.
