Aeschynanthus

Aeschynanthus is a genus of plants within the family Gesneriaceae The approximately 140 to 185 species are distributed in the Palaeotropics in southern and south-eastern Asia and Oceania. There are relatively large differences in all morphological characteristics such as general growth habit, leaf and flower shape and flower colour. They are perennial herbaceous plants to semi-shrubs that are mostly evergreen. They make for wonderful, relatively easy-to-care-for houseplants and are perfect for hanging baskets and containers.
