Homalomena rubescens 'Aurea Variegata' rare variegated houseplants

Homalomena rubescens 'Aurea Variegata' is a beautifully variegated form of Homalomena rubescens Kunth. Petioles are erect, leaf blades are cordate and emerald green with slight quilting of the blade tissue.  Variegation is yellow in colour and very variable.

 

The genus name ; "Homalomena" is derived form the Greek words for flat ("homalos") and moon ("mene").
