‘Birkin’, ‘White Wave’ and ‘White Measure’ are names used for this cultivated Philodendron. The cultivar was introduced in 2010, but its exact horticultural origin and parentage remain uncertain.

• Care for the compact crown: ‘Birkin’ is self-heading and does not need a pole. Keep wet debris out of the close crown and allow air to move around it.
• Water after partial drying: Grow it in a moisture-retentive but freely draining medium. Water thoroughly when part of the root zone has dried, let excess water escape and empty any standing water.
• Give bright, diffuse light: Introduce brighter exposure gradually to support healthy, compact growth without abruptly stressing the leaves.

• Leggy stems or small new leaves: Insufficient filtered light or root stress can contribute, although some difference in leaf size is ordinary. Increase filtered light gradually, inspect the roots and review the plant’s pot history, including recent repotting and how well the medium drains.
