  • Rhaphidophora decursiva 'Dragon Tail' is a cultivar of Rhaphidophora decursiva (Roxb.) Schott is a very rarely offered for sale aroid, which presents beautiful palm-like foliage at all stages of maturity.  These plants, when mature, grow as very large, robust lianas, to 20m or more. Leaves afre  scattered, each foliage leaf separated form next by several cataphyll-bearing nodes. Petioles are green, cylindric, shallowly canaliculate. Juvenile leaf blades are orbicular, mature leaf blades are pale green abaxially, green adaxially, oblong-ovate, ovate in outline.

    Genus name comes form greek rhaphis, rhaphidos (needle) and pher6 (I bear); refers to the macroscopic (to 1 cm long), needle-like unicellular trichosclereids present in tissues.
