Colocasia esculenta 'Mojito'

Colocasia esculenta 'Mojito' is a cultivar of Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott. It is a very colourful mutation from tissue culture found by Ty Strode. Its leaves are lime green with irregular splashes of black. The petioles are dark pink to white with black streaks. A very eye-catching plant!

The generic name is derived from the ancient Greek word kolokasion, which in Greek, botanist Dioscorides (1st century AD) may have inferred the edible roots of both Colocasia esculenta and Nelumbo nucifera.
