Hoya flavida P.I.Forst. & Liddle has deep green leaves, which turn red in strong sunlight. It has interesting pubescen, orange flowers. Easy to grow and great for a hanging basket.

The genus was named in Modern Latin in honor of English gardener and botanist Thomas Hoy (c. 1750-1822).
