Spathiphyllum ‘Sweet Isabella’ is a fairly new (patent from 2020) and distinctive variety of Spathiphyllum plant which is characterized by broad, dark green foliage and strong and rigid petioles. It is a highly vigorous and fast growing cultivar.
The name of the genus Spathiphyllum is the highly vivid Neo-Latin version of two words of Ancient Greek language, ‘σπάθη’ (Indo-European root *sph₂-dʰ–), means sword and ‘φύλλον’, means leave – aptly describing the special shape of the flowers.
he name of the species wallisii was given in honor of the German plant collector Gustav Wallis (1830-1878), who has introduced more than 1000 species of plants in Europe, including many orchids.
