Ficus benjamina 'Golden King' is a cultivar of Ficus benjamina L. Ficus benjamina is a very popular houseplant in temperate areas because of its elegant growth and tolerance of poor growing conditions it does best in bright, sunny conditions, but it also tolerates considerable shade. This cultivar grows mid-green leaves with cream-gold variegation around the margins.

Genus name c. 1400, from Latin ficus "fig, fig tree" (see fig). With capital letter, as the name of a large genus of trees and shrubs, chosen by Linnaeus (1753).
