  • Alocasia clypeolata 'Green shield' is a cultivar of Alocasia clypeolata A.Hay.

    This medium-sized Alocasia has gorgeous, fresh-green foliage with darker, contrasting colouration around the midrib and primary venation. Its venation is quite pronounced which gives the leaves really nice, almost bullate texture.

    The specific epithet comes from the Latin clypeus, shield, alluding to the leaves being shaped like small shields.

    Genus name comes form the Greek words a meaning without and Colocasia the name of a closely allied genus, form which it was separated.
