Hoya glabra 'Splash' houseplant

Hoya glabra 'Splash' is a variegated variety of Hoya glabra Schltr.  It has large, dark green, oval, bare leaves. On average, they are 6 to 10 cm long and 9 cm wide. It displays irregular silver spots on the leaves. Three leaf veins are clearly visible.
The flowers have a diameter of 1 cm. 25 to 30 individual flowers bloom in a round umbel. The corollas have a matt pink colour in the centre. They are slightly darker on the outside. The corona is almost white with a dark pink circle in the centre. The petals are bent back when fully bloomed. The flowers have no nectar and do not spread any scent. They only flower for one day.

 

The genus was named in Modern Latin in honor of English gardener and botanist Thomas Hoy (c. 1750-1822).
