Dracaena (Sansevieria) trifasciata 'Laurentii' is a cultivar of Dracaena trifasciata (Prain) Mabb
It belongs to the genus Dracaena (formerly Sansevieria) from the family Asparagaceae. Drawing its name from the structure of sabre-like leaves lancing out from a central rosette, 'Laurentii' is probably the most recognisable and popular Dracaena houseplant with its mottled grey-green leaves and creamy-yellow margins.

The name dracaena is derived from the romanized form of the Ancient Greek δράκαινα – drakaina, "female dragon".
